Things to Do Around Bloor-Yorkville

Bloor-Yorkville is definitely one of the best places to visit or even live in. It has everything you need and is extremely convenient. There are so many exciting things to do around Yorkville and is where some of the best restaurants are located there. I personally love the atmosphere of Yorkville, especially during Christmas when all the Christmas lights are up. Yorkville is also known as a shopping paradise so you're in luck if you love shopping. In this post, we have gathered some of the things you can do around Bloor-Yorkville. Wait no further, let's begin!

Attractions

Royal Ontario Museum

The Royal Ontario Museum was founded in 1914, showcasing art, culture and nature from around the world and across the ages. It is the largest and most comprehensive museum in Canada among the top 10 cultural institutions in North America and is the most-visited museum in Canada. It has a world-class collection of 13 million artworks, cultural objects and natural history specimens, featured in 40 gallery and exhibition spaces. Some of their current exhibitions include "Winnie-the-Pooh: Exploring a Classic" in which visitors would get to experience the magical world of this much-loved bear and his friends. If you love Winnie the Pooh, this is a must-see. Another exhibition that's currently on is "Egyptian Mummies: Ancient Lives. New Discoveries." which showcases who mummies were and how they lived.

Bata Shoe Museum (BSA)

You may think to yourself: another museum? Yes, another one but this is not like any typical museum. The Bata Shoe Museum (BSM) regularly displays over a thousand shoes and related artifacts, chosen from a collection of over 13,000 objects. It showcases the world's largest collection of shoes throughout history, in this iconic, award-winning building designed by architect Raymond Moriyama’s. It's currently holding a new exhibition called "The Great Divide" which shows footwear in the Age of Enlightenment, a period in European history from the end of 17th to the end of 18th century when philosophers and scientists wrestled with concepts of 'human nature' and 'natural rights'. Make sure you check it out if you're into fashion!
