Yamato is one of the oldest teppanyaki-style restaurants in Canada. It has served authentic Japanese cuisine since 1983 in Toronto downtown fashion district, Yorkville. It is only 4 minutes walk from our rental suites at Avalon! While it is known for its teppanyaki and many people visit the restaurant to watch the food being prepared on the teppan (the metal plate the food is cooked on) right in front of their eyes, they also offer set lunch like sushi entree and à la carte.
