The Hospital for Sick Children (SickKids), which is affiliated with the University of Toronto, is Canada's most research-intensive hospital and the country's largest centre dedicated to improving children's health. SickKids is a founding member of the Kids Health Alliance, a collaborative network of organizations dedicated to increasing excellence and competence in paediatric care delivery in Ontario.
SickKids operates on the traditional land of the Huron-Wendat and Petun First Nations, the Seneca, and the Mississaugas of the Credit River. They are devoted to developing new relationships that include First Nations, Inuit, and Métis peoples, and are grateful for the opportunity to care for children and their families on this land.
SickKids is much more than a hospital because of its passionate and dedicated employees. Every day, they strive to provide the finest in child and family-centered care, to make groundbreaking clinical and scientific advances, and to teach the next generation of child health specialists. As part of their equity, diversity, and inclusion efforts, SickKids is committed to providing a safe space for all of their patients and families, employees, learners, and volunteers, where everyone can feel seen, heard, and respected.

SickKids Hospital's Location
SickKids Hospital is located in downtown Toronto at 555 University Avenue, between Gerrard and Elm streets. The main hospital entrance is located at 170 Elizabeth Street.
If you are planning to frequent the SickKids Hospital, it would be highly beneficial to be within close proximity. There are multiple accommodations in downtown Toronto to choose from, including the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel, Chelsea Hotel, and Marriott Downtown. But while these hotels are definitely luxurious, they are also quite expensive, especially if you're looking to stay for more than a few nights. A great alternative would be booking a short-term rental for a furnished apartment nearby.
Consider booking a short-term rental with Avalon Suites. Our furnished apartments will be more affordable and you will still have close access to SickKids Hospital. From Avalon’s accommodation, it will only be a 10-minute drive, 15-minute commute on the Toronto Transit Commission (TTC), or a 20-minute walk to reach the hospital.
Our location is also very convenient. At Avalon, you will be close to a Wholefoods Market for groceries, top Toronto tourism destinations like the CN Tower, Ripley’s Aquarium of Ontario, Royal Ontario Museum, and Art Gallery of Ontario, and schools like Toronto Metropolitan University (formerly Ryerson University) and University of Toronto's St. George Campus.
